Championship Rookie Game - June 17th, 2009

We played the Rookie championship game last night against the Diamondbacks. Benjamin played the "game of his life" defensively. NOTHING got past him at Short. He caught two line drives in the air - literally, he dove and caught them!! SO AWESOME!!!! If he wasn't catching kids out, he was throwing them out. Our little slugger.....He hit well too. Such concentration....... SMACK!!!

Although our team played excellent defense, they just didn't hit well..... The scoreboard said we got beat 8-2 - but it wasn't really that far apart..... Our kids played really well and we're so proud of all of them!

Jason had the kids vote for "Most Valuable Player" and "Most Improved Player" and the winners received autographed baseballs (autographs by our coaches and players).

Our Bub won "Most Valuable Player"!!!! What an awesome honor - especially being voted on by your teammates!! Our Bub...........

The "team" gave Jason a very nice "thank you" card - the parents wrote some very nice things. Jason is a GREAT coach!!!! He is awesome with each and every kid. We've had so many parents tell us how thankful they are that their kids were on his team. They're thankful for his dedication and his ability to work with the kids. He has helped so many kids improve and understand the game. It's so neat to see....

We had a celebration afterwards - cupcakes, cookies and drinks :)

Even though we didn't beat those Diamondbacks, we sure played a great game. What a nice way to end the season...... 2nd in the Tournament..... Not too shabby :) "GO REDS"........
