Mom and I took the boys (my boys plus Devin, my nephew) to the Louisville Zoo while they were on Spring Break. They all wanted to do the Sky Trail High Adventure Course - a two story structure that has a tracking system that allows you to move through the course in a harness without ever having to disconnect.
All four of them got in their harnesses and climbed up the steps to the first level and Benjamin yelled down to me "Joe doesn't want to do it.". He got up there and his confidence shattered. I don't blame him one bit! It looked scary to me from the ground. I can't imagine what it looked like from that perspective.
Benjamin took off on all the different types of challenges. He looked like the workers who built the old skyscrapers. You know the ones - I'm sure you've seen pictures or videos of the guys walking on the steel beams way up above the city - or the workers who ate lunch sitting on a beam hanging from a crane that was attached to the skyscraper.... Yikes! Benjamin looked that confident and comfortable.
Henry did great too. He was very confident and comfortable until he got to a single rope line he had to cross - and the only support was by grabbing ropes above your head (that he couldn't reach). That's not what got him upset - he could have turned and gone on another challenge - but some kid said something to him and laughed because he couldn't do it. That's it with Henry - Mr. Emotional. He was done. A Dad was up there with his son and felt sorry for those big teary blue eyes and helped him come down. Look at him here - not scared at all!!
