Benjamin picked this milkweed one evening last week while playing football out in the field at our house. He brought it in the house and left it on the counter. He pulled the outer shell off and all the seeds were compacted so neatly - kinda looked like a fake mouse toy you could buy for a cat to play with. After it sat there for a few days drying out, the seeds started to spread out.
Simply beautiful!!
Time to "release the seeds"..... We learned at a visitor center in West Virginia, on our way home from Washington DC a couple weeks ago, that the monarch butterfly only lays its eggs in milkweeds.... God is so amazing..... So, we're all about growing more milkweeds :)

Tell the boys,when the war was happening (world war 11) Their great grand parents collected those plants and parachutes were made with those seed pods. Grandma Judy
